Pick Your Poison Pt. 2

To recap real fast about my top favorite 8 things to do during the quarantine. It was 1: Spa Night. 2: At home movie theater,. 3: Picnic Lunch and 4: Podcast! Below are the rest of my favorite 8 things to do during quarantine!

5. Baking

I’ve always loved to bake, cook, experiment with food, eat food, etc.. and I enjoy a really good meal! During this time in quarantine my 4-year-old brother and myself, have decided that we are going to try a new chocolate chip cookie recipe each week. It is a daunting task but we are loving it! So far we’ve tried maybe 8 different recipes and we right now are raving about Joanna Gaines’ Chocolate chips cookies. They are amazing!
Don’t like cookies?! That’s just fine! Try your favorite dish with a new twist! Try making something different for dinner. Mix it up a little, you won’t be sorry! Or maybe you will…?

6. Create a dream board

This is easy and will take up a lot of your time. Create a dream board of what you want your life to look like. Think about the car you want to drive, the places you want to visit, the clothes you want to buy, the house you want to live in. Literally the options are endless and can help keep your life on a path. Rather than just working day in day out without end goals in mind. I created a small one for myself, it’s simple and keeps me moving! I also put down 100 habits happy people develop. It gives me an idea of something new to work on throughout my week.

7. Get your body moving!

Referring back to myself at the begging of quarantine I quit working out. I thought to myself, “This is only going to last a couple of weeks, I’ll take this time to eat my feelings and not care about what other people think.” Little did I know that at some point I’d have to put jeans on again and be seen in public. So I did what any sensible “responsible” adult would do. I put down my cookie dough and went on a jog. Okay, maybe not a jog… more like a slow trot down the street once. But I did that again the day after and the day after. Every morning I get up and exercise to start my day and I couldn’t be more thankful I created that habit for myself!

I saved the very best for last, my personal favorite!!

8. SLEEP!

I am a sucker for a good weighted blanket, a cold dark room, and no alarm set! I have found that getting into bed and just allowing myself to fall asleep and getting a good night’s sleep puts me in a better mood and I am more capable of making better choices when I’ve slept. Now, don’t think I’m sitting here all high and mighty saying I’ve created the perfect sleeping habits, I haven’t. I stayed up till almost 2 multiple nights watching The Office and sleeping in waaay later then I should. But hey, it quarantine and we won’t get this time again. Today even, I pulled my room darkening shades down, grabbed a furry blanket, and passed out on my bed for a nap! I’m trying to cut back on my energy drinks and instead of popping one open I hopped into my bed and I don’t regret it at all.

So there you have it! My 8 favorite things to be doing during quarantine! Give these activities a try. Maybe you have some that you absolutely love! Share those with me and I’d love to try your favorite things out!

Till next time!xoxo
